Thane Lund is an American artist who works in the visual arts including painting, ceramics, motion pictures, installation and photography.
After studying abroad at Burren College of Art in Ireland, he got his BFA at the Montana State University School of Art. His work has been exhibited in Japan, Ireland, Germany, and across the United States of America.

Thane's art practice derives much of its context from landscape both in the timeless nature surrounding civilization and in the relationship that people develop with place through their architecture and customs. Specifically he has been working with motifs inspired by volcanic and tectonic forces.

During his stay Thane enjoyed working with direct influence from the natural surroundings of the Bay Area.

Here is a collection of the photos he took while at Varda Artists Residency Program.
