France Dubois is a Belgian photographer based in Brussels.

Poetry and intuition shape her delicate photographs. Through the duality of beauty and weakness, the fragility of emotions is revealed by a hidden strangeness harbored in a world between dreams and reality.

France Dubois’s work has been shown at the New York Photo Festival, Kaunas Photo Festival (Lithuania), Bozar Museum (Brussels), Recyclart Art Center (Brussels), Affordable Art Fair (Brussels), Fotofabrik Bnl-Bxl Gallery (Berlin), Itinéraires des Photographes Voyageurs Photo Festival (Bordeaux-France), The LAB Galerie Artyfact (Paris), Les Photaumnales Photo Festival (Beauvais-France), Les Transphotographiques Photo Festival (Lille-France), Photo Art Fair (London), AIAV Show (Yamaguchi - Japan).

During her time at the residency France focused on researching the spiritual history of the houseboat and the local community:

Every day life's doors are open to invisible worlds. Art can be one of the most powerful ways to access all levels of reality. I believe in the strength of nature and non-human entities and their influence on our daily life and unconscious being.
My goal is to photograph unexpected moments, the "invisible", and the point where the physical and spiritual worlds are intertwined.

Varda Artists Residency Program and France Dubois would like to thank Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) for funding France's residency.
