Eleanor Taylor is from Hastings, UK. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2011 and has since been illustrating for clients like the New Yorker, New York Times, Penguin and Random House.
Eleanor’s practice is centred around drawing and painting. Her landscapes are both observed, imagined and remembered. Old holiday snaps, frozen cinematic frames and fragments of memory are pieced together to form a hazy recollection of a place.
The VAR program will be an amazing opportunity to focus and absorb herself in making a series of work in response to a new and unfamiliar location.
By the end of the program, Eleanor aims to have a series of paintings which could stand alone or inform larger works, a publication, screen prints or pattern design.
